Finnish game developer Supercell has surprised fans with a twist on their cancelled RPG, Clash Heroes. Instead of a simple revival, they've announced Project R.I.S.E., a completely new social action RPG roguelite set within the familiar Clash universe.

The Full Story:

Clash Heroes is officially cancelled, confirming earlier rumors. However, Supercell is giving the concept a fresh start. Project R.I.S.E. will be a multiplayer-focused experience, a significant departure from its predecessor.

In a recent announcement video, game lead Julien Le Cadre confirmed the cancellation of Clash Heroes, but highlighted the exciting new direction: a multiplayer action RPG.

Project R.I.S.E. will share some DNA with Clash Heroes, but is a completely rebuilt game. Players will team up in groups of three to conquer The Tower, a mysterious location with procedurally generated floors. The focus is on cooperative gameplay and diverse character selection, unlike the original's primarily PvE structure.

Currently in pre-alpha, Project R.I.S.E. is aiming for its first playtest in early July 2024. Interested players can register on the official website for a chance to participate.
