Treyarch is marking 115 Day with a mystery box filled with major Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies reveals, including the debut of a new map titled The Tomb.

This January 15 celebration holds special significance for Call of Duty fans, arriving alongside a comprehensive blog post detailing all upcoming zombie-themed content. Today's star announcement introduces The Tomb - a desert-themed Zombies map launching with Season 2 on January 28. Players won't have to wait long for fresh Zombies content following Season 1's Citadelle des Morts.

"After surviving the horrors of Citadelle des Morts, Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya follow Gabriel Krafft's dying words to an excavation site containing the Sentinel Artifact," Treyarch's narrative preview explains. "These ancient catacombs, potentially dating to 2500 B.C.E., remained untouched for centuries until early 20th century excavations... and their secrets may prove more profound than anyone anticipated."

The developers describe The Tomb as a mysterious location connected to British archaeologist Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe but leave its broader Zombies lore implications unanswered.

Gameplay-wise, this new environment offers "an experience comparable to Liberty Falls" - the vibrant small-town map from Black Ops 6's October launch. According to Treyarch, this translates to "more compact play areas emphasizing replay value" as players uncover The Tomb's hidden Easter eggs.

Treyarch also hints at a redesigned Wonder Weapon "drawing from our history" and the comeback of a legendary SMG, though specifics remain under wraps.

Season 2 brings substantial quality-of-life upgrades addressing longtime community requests. Players can now track 10 Calling Card and 10 Camo challenges across Zombies and Multiplayer. Zombies mode gains co-op pausing functionality, letting squad leaders temporarily halt matches. Interface customization expands with separate HUD presets for Zombies and Multiplayer, alongside improved loadout retention when rejoining Zombies matches.

For 115 Day celebrations, players enjoy doubled GobbleGum earnings plus 2x XP for progression systems through January 21 at 10AM PT. Treyarch also shared impressive statistics: Zombies mode has amassed over 480 million play hours.

"Directed Mode's purpose was straightforward: introduce new players to Zombies by guiding them through Main Quests with support systems, helping them engage with the narrative and potentially become permanent fans," the development team noted. "The results are encouraging - since Directed Mode's launch, Main Quest completion rates have more than doubled from 3.38% to 8.23%."

Character voice acting in The Tomb may interest fans particularly after Activision confirmed recasting certain beloved Zombies roles during the SAG-AFTRA strike.
