Unlocking New Challenges: COD: Black Ops 6 Revamps Progress Tracking

Jan 20,25

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is getting a much-requested feature: in-game challenge tracking. Treyarch Studios confirmed they are developing this functionality, addressing player disappointment over its absence at launch. While a release date isn't set, the upcoming Season 2 update later this month hints at a potential imminent arrival.

This update follows a January 9th patch focusing on bug fixes for Multiplayer and Zombies modes. The patch included UI and audio improvements, a Multiplayer XP boost for Red Light, Green Light, and a reversal of controversial Zombies changes (extended round times and delayed zombie spawns in Directed Mode) following community feedback.

Challenge Tracking on the Way

Treyarch's Twitter response to fan requests confirmed the challenge tracking feature is "currently in the works." This feature, popular in 2023's Modern Warfare 3, was notably absent from Black Ops 6 despite both games using the Call of Duty HQ app. Its implementation will significantly improve the experience for players pursuing Mastery camos, providing real-time challenge progress tracking within the game's UI.

More Updates in Development

Treyarch also confirmed another significant change: separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies modes. This highly requested feature is also "in the works," eliminating the need for players to constantly adjust HUD settings when switching between game modes. Both these updates promise to enhance the overall Black Ops 6 gameplay experience.
