Weekly Challenges: New Mode in The Battle of Polytopia
The Battle of Polytopia has spiced up its competitive scene with the introduction of Weekly Challenges, offering a fresh way to test your strategic prowess in this beloved 4X strategy game. Let's dive into the details of this exciting new feature.
It Was Random Before
If you're familiar with The Battle of Polytopia, you know that randomness plays a significant role, with varying enemies, resources, and maps keeping every game unpredictable. However, the new free update introduces a more structured form of competition.
Every week, players will face the same map, tribe, and gameplay conditions. The challenge? To achieve the highest possible score within 20 turns. You're allowed only one attempt per day, totaling up to seven tries per week. This new feature also lets you experience tribes you might not own yet. The game boasts 16 tribes in total—four come with the base game, and another twelve are available for purchase at $1-4 each. But with The Battle of Polytopia Weekly Challenges, everyone competes as the same tribe, regardless of ownership.

Will Weekly Challenges Make The Battle of Polytopia More Exciting?
I certainly hope so. Alongside the Weekly Challenges, the game introduces a new League system. Everyone starts in the Entry League, and your performance each week will determine whether you move up or down. The top third of players advance to a higher league, the bottom third move down, and the middle third remain in their current league.
As you progress through the leagues, the difficulty scales up. In the Entry League, you'll face AI on Easy difficulty, but by the time you reach the Gold League, you'll be competing against Crazy difficulty bots. And if you miss a week, you won't be demoted, but your ranking will adjust based on how others perform.
