Mar 26,25

Embracer has celebrated the remarkable success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, which is approaching the 2 million sales mark. This medieval action role-playing game sequel from Warhorse Studios sold an impressive 1 million copies within just one day of its launch on February 4, and has nearly doubled that number within 10 days. The game, available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, has shown exceptional performance, particularly on Steam, where it achieved over 250,000 peak concurrent players. This is a significant leap from the first game's peak of 96,069 concurrent players on Steam seven years ago.

It's important to mention that the actual peak concurrent player count for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is likely higher, considering its availability on consoles as well. Unfortunately, player numbers from Sony and Microsoft are not disclosed to the public.

Embracer, which owns Warhorse Studios through its subsidiary Plaion, has hailed the game as a success not only in terms of sales but also in player and critic reception. Lars Wingefors, CEO of Embracer, praised the dedication and hard work of Warhorse Studios and the publisher Deep Silver. He expressed confidence that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will continue to generate significant revenue in the coming years, thanks to its exceptional quality, immersion, and appeal. The studio has planned updates and new content over the next 12 months, ensuring an evolving experience for the community.

Looking ahead, Embracer has Killing Floor 3 slated for release later this quarter (January to March 2025). The company employs over 5,000 game developers working on its upcoming titles, with 10 triple-A games planned for release over the next three financial years. Eight of these will come from internal studios, and two from external studios. In FY 2025/26 alone, Embracer has scheduled two triple-A games to be released towards the end of the financial year, alongside several mid-sized releases including Gothic 1 Remake, REANIMAL, Fellowship, Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core, Titan Quest II, Screamer, Echoes of the End (working title), Tides of Tomorrow, Satisfactory (console), and the full release of Wreckfest 2, among others yet to be announced.

Despite recent challenges, including layoffs and the sale of several studios like Gearbox and Saber Interactive, Embracer still owns 4A Games, which is developing a new game in the Metro series.
