Techland Expands Dying Light 2 with Free Tower Raid Roguelite Mode

Mar 01,25

Dying Light 2's latest addition, Tower Raid, is a thrilling roguelite-style game mode offering unpredictable challenges and intense survival gameplay. Following extensive testing, this highly anticipated mode is now live, providing a completely new experience within the game's infected world.

Players won't control Aiden Caldwell in Tower Raid. Instead, they choose from four unique warrior classes – Tank, Brawler, Ranger, and Specialist – each with distinct abilities encouraging diverse strategies and collaborative play. For a heightened challenge, players can reduce their team size or even tackle the tower solo.

The mode boasts three difficulty levels: Quick, Normal, and Elite, impacting run intensity and length. Procedural generation ensures every playthrough is unique, with dynamic floor layouts and unpredictable enemy encounters. Adaptability is crucial for success.

Techland has implemented a fresh progression system. Each failed attempt unlocks new abilities and weapons, increasing chances of victory in subsequent runs. At the tower's peak, players can encounter Sola, a mysterious merchant offering rare rewards such as the Office Day Outfit, Kuai Dagger, and Silenced Pistol to worthy adventurers.

While preparing for the launch of Dying Light: The Beast, Techland remains dedicated to enhancing Dying Light 2 throughout 2025. Future updates promise improved co-op, refined matchmaking, broader community map integration, additional Tower Raid characters, new melee and ranged weapons, a new weapon class, prologue enhancements, and significant graphical and technical upgrades.
