7 Days To Die: How To Complete Infested Clear Missions (And Why They Are Worth Doing)
7 Days To Die: Mastering Infested Clear Missions
This guide details how to tackle Infested Clear Missions in 7 Days To Die, maximizing rewards and survival chances. These challenging missions offer significant XP, loot, and rare rewards.
Starting an Infested Clear Mission
To begin, visit one of the five traders (Rekt, Jen, Bob, Hugh, or Joe). Mission difficulty depends on tier (higher tiers are harder) and biome (Wasteland is tougher than forests). Infested missions unlock after completing 10 Tier 1 missions, requiring Tier 2 access. Expect increased zombie numbers and tougher variants (radiated, cops, ferals). Tier 6 missions are the most challenging but offer the best rewards. The objective remains consistent: eliminate all enemies in a designated area.
Completing an Infested Clear Mission
Upon reaching the Point of Interest (POI), activate the mission marker. Leaving the area or dying results in failure. POIs often have scripted events triggered by following a specific path (e.g., collapsing floors, ambushes). Avoid the obvious, usually well-lit path, to circumvent these traps. Carry building blocks to escape traps or create alternate routes for surprise attacks.
Zombies are indicated by red dots on the screen; size reflects proximity. Prioritize headshots. Be aware of special zombie types:
Zombie Type | Abilities | Countermeasures |
---|---|---|
Cops | Spit toxic vomit, explode when injured | Maintain distance, use cover when they cock their heads back before spitting. |
Spiders | Jump long distances | Listen for their screech before they jump; prepare for quick headshots. |
Screamers | Summon other zombies | Prioritize eliminating them to prevent overwhelming hordes. |
Demolition Zombies | Carry explosive packages | Avoid hitting their chests; run if the explosive beeps. |
The final room contains high-tier loot, but also a large number of zombies. Ensure you're fully healed, weapons are loaded and durable, and you know the escape route before entering.
Once all zombies are eliminated, report back to the trader for your reward. Collect all loot, including the Infested Cache (containing valuable ammo, magazines, and items).
Infested Clear Mission Rewards
Rewards are random but influenced by game stage, loot stage (boosted by the Lucky Looter skill and Treasure Hunter mod), mission tier, and skill points. The "A Daring Adventurer" perk significantly improves rewards: more Dukes (1 XP per Duke sold) and, at rank 4, allows selecting two rewards instead of one. This is highly beneficial for acquiring rare items like solar cells, crucibles, or legendary parts. Sell any unwanted items to the trader for additional XP.
