Choi Ji-Won, director of Lies of P, found inspiration after playing Elden Ring: Nightreign's network test and is now considering fresh directions for future projects. Speaking with Eurogamer at the 2025 Game Developers Conference (GDC), Choi discussed Souls-like game development. His admiration for FromSoftware's work is reflected in Lies of P's design.

On Elden Ring: Nightreign, Choi remarked, "Playing it felt innovative and exhilarating. It reaffirmed my belief in FromSoftware's ability to push creative boundaries—their work motivates me to perfect Overture for our players."

Regarding multiplayer ambitions, he added, "For future projects, we're exploring all possibilities to expand our creative horizons."

While a FromSoftware admirer, Choi clarified that no single game dictates his vision. In a Games Radar+ interview at GDC 2025, he explained, "My inspirations stem from countless titles I've enjoyed. These diverse influences converge into the unique Lies of P experience we're crafting for fans."

Overture Gameplay Duration: 15-20 Hours

Choi estimates skilled players will spend 15-20 hours completing Overture, an expansion packed with bosses and content originally envisioned for the base game. "This DLC seamlessly integrates with the original narrative while elevating the overall experience—a challenging but rewarding endeavor," he noted.

Set before the main story, Overture takes players to Krat's final days through the eyes of a legendary Stalker. The content incorporates player feedback, unused concepts, and fresh ideas that development constraints initially excluded. Choi likened it to a Director's Cut that completes the journey.

"At launch, we prioritized quality over quantity," Choi emphasized. "The community's passion motivated us to realize our full vision through this expansion."

During GDC 2025, Choi confirmed to IGN that Overture won't connect to the base game's concluding scene—though the ending hints at NEOWIZ's future plans for the Lies of P universe.

While Choi's November 2023 Director's Letter confirmed a sequel, details remain scarce. "We'll only share updates when fully prepared to meet our quality standards," he assured fans.
