"Bloodborne Emulated on PC Achieves Near-Stable 60 FPS"

In a recent evaluation by Digital Foundry's Thomas Morgan, the performance of the popular game Bloodborne was tested on the ShadPS4 emulator. Utilizing the ShadPS4 0.5.1 build by diegolix29, which is based on a custom branch developed by raphaelthegreat, Morgan conducted his tests on a PC equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 5700X processor and a GeForce RTX 4080 GPU. This specific build demonstrated superior performance compared to others he tested.

To enhance the visual experience and eliminate issues like stretched or misplaced polygons, Morgan suggested installing the Vertex Explosion Fix mod. While this mod disables face customization at the start of the game, it effectively resolves these visual artifacts. Notably, no additional essential mods are necessary as the emulator itself comes with built-in features. These include a special menu that allows users to manage various enhancements such as enabling 60 fps, increasing resolution to 4K, and disabling chromatic aberration.

Morgan's testing revealed that Bloodborne typically maintained a 60 fps frame rate, despite occasional stutters. He also experimented with higher resolutions, including 1440p and 1800p, where the image quality saw noticeable improvements. However, these higher resolutions led to performance drops and frequent crashes. Consequently, Morgan recommends running Bloodborne on the ShadPS4 emulator at either 1080p, mirroring the PS4's native resolution, or at 1152p for optimal performance and stability.

Thomas Morgan praised the ShadPS4 team for their remarkable achievement in making PS4 emulation possible. He concluded that while Bloodborne performs well on the emulator, there are still some technical issues that need addressing.
