After 15 years at Sledgehammer Games, Call of Duty multiplayer creative director Greg Reisdorf has departed. His tenure began with the development of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2011), and he played a pivotal role in numerous subsequent titles. His contributions included the multiplayer aspects of the recently released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2023), encompassing live seasonal content and game modes.

Reisdorf's journey with Sledgehammer Games, established in 2009, spanned the studio's entire history. He collaborated across various Call of Duty projects alongside Treyarch, Infinity Ward, and Raven Software, culminating in his work on Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone.

In a January 13th Twitter announcement, Reisdorf detailed his career highlights. These included contributions to Modern Warfare 3's Scorched Earth campaign mission and a memorable sequence in the Blood Brothers mission. He also shaped the "boots on the ground" gameplay of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, contributing to mechanics like boost jumps and tactical reloads, although he expressed reservations about the "Pick 13" system.

His work on Call of Duty: WW2 saw him address early concerns about the game's weapon class restrictions, while his contributions to Call of Duty: Vanguard favored traditional three-lane map designs, prioritizing engaging gameplay over strict military realism.

Finally, Reisdorf reminisced about his role in revitalizing classic Modern Warfare 2 maps for Modern Warfare 3 (2023), including subtle additions like Shepherd's skull in the Rust map. As multiplayer creative director, he oversaw the development of over 20 live seasonal modes, such as Season 1's Snowfight and Infectious Holiday modes. He expressed excitement for future opportunities within the gaming industry.
