Marvel Rivals Addresses 30 FPS Damage Glitch Affecting Certain Heroes

Marvel Rivals players experiencing reduced damage output at lower FPS settings, particularly with heroes like Dr. Strange and Wolverine, can breathe a sigh of relief. Developers have acknowledged a 30 FPS bug impacting damage calculations for several characters and are actively working on a solution.

The issue, affecting heroes such as Dr. Strange, Magik, Star-Lord, Venom, and Wolverine, manifests as decreased damage on some or all attacks when the game runs at lower frame rates (30 FPS). This has been confirmed by a community manager on the official Discord server. The problem appears more pronounced when testing attacks against stationary targets.

While a precise fix date isn't available, the developers are committed to resolving this. A significant improvement is anticipated with the launch of Season 1 on January 11th. The community manager, James, assures players that the Season 1 update will address the issue, if not completely resolve it immediately, a future patch will.

The root cause appears to be related to the game's client-side prediction system, a common programming technique to minimize perceived lag. While Wolverine's Feral Leap and Savage Claw abilities are specifically mentioned as affected, a complete list of impacted heroes and moves is pending.

Despite this ongoing issue, Marvel Rivals, released in early December 2025, has been a considerable success in the hero shooter genre, boasting an 80% player approval rating based on over 132,000 Steam reviews. The team's proactive response to player feedback further underscores their commitment to providing a positive gaming experience.
